Shade structures
High-tension sails set at alternating heights so the play surface stays covered as the sun moves. Knitted HDPE blocks up to 98% of UV while letting the prevailing wind pass straight through.
A play area is shaded badly if it is shaded only at noon. We set sails at alternating heights and angles so the covered footprint tracks the sun through the hours the space is actually used — early morning and late afternoon included.
Knitted HDPE is the right fabric here rather than a coated membrane: it blocks up to 98% of UV while letting wind pass straight through, so the structure sheds gusts instead of fighting them, and the space underneath stays cooler than a sealed canopy.
Footings are sized for impact as well as uplift, and every fixing within reach is detailed with no exposed edge or thread.
