Shade structures

School Shades.

Assembly areas, walkways and drop-off zones covered to keep them usable through the middle of the day. Detailed with no reachable sharp edges and installed to a schedule that works around term time.

  • Assembly / walkway / drop-off
  • No reachable edges
  • Out-of-term install

School shading is a scheduling problem as much as an engineering one. We survey during term, fabricate off-site, and install in the holidays — so the assembly area that was unusable in May is covered before the new year starts.

Everything within reach is detailed for a building full of children: no exposed thread, no sharp return, no fixing a child can work loose. Columns in circulation routes are padded as standard rather than as an extra.

Assembly areas, covered walkways between blocks, drop-off and pick-up canopies, and sports court covers are all handled by the same team that engineers our tensile work.
